1714 Avietis Lazar died. He is the earliest recorded Armenian to have died in Dhaka
1780 The ground for the Church was donated by Agah Catchick Minas
1781 The Armenian Church of Holy Resurrection Dhaka was built. it was consecrated by Bishop Ephraim
1823 Armenian Zemindar Agah Arathoon Michael died.
1831 There were 42 Armenian houses in Dacca made up of: 49 adult males 37 adult females 25 male children under 16 15 females under 16 Making a total Armenian population in Dacca in 1831 of 126 people.
1837 A steeple was added to the Church by Johannes Carapiet Sarkies
1845 Joseph David Melik Beglar was born and baptised 9 December 1845. He rose to the position of Executive Engineer and Archaeological Surveyor in the Bengal Public Works Department
1848 Joachim Gregory Nicholas Pogose founded the Pogose School in Dhaka
1849 The Church altar piece ‘The Last Supper’ was painted and donated by Charles Pote
1854 Marcar David set up his business, M. David & Co in Dacca. He was the first to open up a Jute business in Bangladesh and was responsible for Chittagong becoming a port
1856 George Manuk Shircore was the first shopkeeper to bring the Ticca Garry to Dacca
1876 His Grace Archbishop Gregoris Johannessian visited the Church
1896 Thaddeus Seth Nahapiet set up his Jute business in Dhaka
1897 A severe earthquake shook Dhaka, lives were lost and the Church steeple fell down
1907 The Parsonage was built and marble flooring, electric lights & fans installed by Mr. Arathoon Stephen of Calcutta
1907 Grace Archbishop Sahak Ayvadian visited the Church
1915 David Alexander presented the Church with the white marble altar
1917 His Grace Archbishop Torgom Gooshakian visited the Church collecting donations to help Armenian refugees from Western Armenia (Turkey)
1922 Generous Church benefactor, Jute Merchant Joseph Lazarus died
1922 His Grace Archbishop Sahak Ayvadian visited the Church for the 2nd time
1928 His Grace Archbishop Mesrovb Magistros visited the church

1933 Herbert Michael Shircore Chairman of the Narainganj Municipality, decorated with the Order of Companion of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)
1948 2nd visit by Archbishop Kostanian
1950 Amerkhan David Boldy was made President of the Pakistan Jute Associate and member of the Pakistan Government Jute Board
1958 Two visits made this year by Bishop T. Poladian.
1986 The Church came close to being taken over. It was saved by Mr. Michael Martin, Caretaker at the time
2013 Mr. Michael Martin, Church caretaker, honoured with a Pontifical Bull for services to the Armenian Church, Dhaka
2016 Armenian Mass held at the church and flag raising, attended by Mr. Asaduzzman Noor, the Minister of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh
2016 Named in honour of Michael Martin the caretaker who saved the Church from an uncertain future. “The Michael Martin Food Assistance Programme” was started
2018 Restoration of ‘The Last Supper’ altar painting completed
2018 The Bangladesh Armenian Heritage Project commenced
2019 Application process commenced for UNESCO Heritage Status of the Church
2019 In association with other charitable organisations we will be establishing a free weekly medical clinic for local people, providing essential assistance to those in need of help
2019 We are exploring the opportunity of establishing a scholarship programme, giving local young people further education opportunities they wouldn’t normal have access to.
2019 We work closely with the Department of Archaeology and the Ministry of Culture on heritage matters and continue to develop our Heritage Project with a view to keeping the history of Armenians in Bangladesh alive
